I purchased an iPhone 5s locked to SoftBank Japan, and now I cannot request them to unlock it, because I don't speak Japanese, and they don't seem to have the English language service.

Only that carrier can unlock the iPhone. If you can't get them to unlock it, then you should try to get a refund.

Japanese carriers do not unlock phones, so even if you could speak Japanese, you would not be able to get it unlocked. As ZikzakCorp states, return it. Why would you purchase a phone locked to a carrier you could not use?
Return the phone and get your money back, then buy a phone you can actually use.
