Pasted image larger than what I copied

I have an image in my keynote.

I use command-option-4 to select part of it.

When I paste that back into my slide, it is considerably larger than what I selected, so I have to manually re-scale the pasted image -- which also seems to be more pixelated.

Is there a way around this?

perhaps this is just a bug and it will be addressed in the next release.

This is not a fault in Keynote. Image degradation is proportional to the amount of enlargement applied to an image.

Use images with pixels matching in proportion to the pixel slide size; a slide size of 1920 x 1200 pixels with images that are quarter screen require a pixel size of 960 x 600 pixels.

it does me no good at all if I want to capture several elements.

If you need 10 selections duplicate 10 times.
