Bluetooth Headphone Troubles, MBPr 15"

I have Sony MDR-ZX770BT Bluetooth Headphones.

They skip / lag when connected to my MBPr 15" mid 2014, OS X 10.10.3. Sound quality is spotty / skippy / laggy.

Tested with music stored locally, iTunes Radio, and iTunes match music stored in the cloud.

When paired to my iPhone (sitting right next to the laptop) the headphones play music and phone calls as expected, with good sound, no lag, no 'skipping'.

Bluetooth issue on the MBPr?

All other devices work fine - keyboard, numbed, Logitech mouse.
