Browsers open, won't load pages/other sites (Chrome

Browser opens, won't load anything. (Chrome and Safari). Error message on Chrome says network is using proxy settings, but not the case when verified.

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.

Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.

Restart the computer.

Start up in Safe Mode.

If you've installed any third-party "anti-virus" or web-filtering software, remove it according to the developer's instructions. Back up all data before making any changes.
