On the new Apple Photos, deleted pictures show up as blanks. How to delete blanks, how to delete pictures?

i think problem is that you took pictures on your iphone with "live" switched on, which created the mini video files along with the image file. you downloaded and then deleted the image files, but left the mini video files, orphaned, behind. they have no image file to present so they show up as blank. i just highlight the blank and delete, note it will ask if you 'want to delete the video' which is the clue.

How did you delete the photos? Did you delete them using the Finder?


To delete photos in Photos:

  • use the "delete" key, if you are deleting while viewing Moments, Collections, Years.
  • use command-delete while viewing the photos from an album or smart album.
