The correct way is in photos or all photos select the photos and press delete (or right click and select delete )

How did you delete the photos? Did you delete them using the Finder?
To delete photos in Photos:
- use the "delete" key, if you are deleting while viewing Moments, Collections, Years.
- use command-delete while viewing the photos from an album or smart album.
