imovie title won't display text, only placeholder

Working in iMovie '11 and ready to export project. Playing back the project before finalizing it shows the correct text, but it does not show up for this one clip in the final product, no matter in what format its exported, only the placeholder text. There are other titles in the movie that use the same style (gravity) and they are working fine. Already tried deleting and re-adding the title, closing iMovie and rebooting, etc.

Any suggestions?
