Favourites folder in iPad photo app

How can I delete the FAVOURITES folder in the iPad photo app. By mistake I marked some photos as favourites by clicking the 'heart' icon. Although I have removed all the photos from the FAVOURITES folder, the empty folder remain. Very annoying to have it there with no obvious way of removing it.

I am answering my own query !!! The empty 'favourites' folder disappeared on its own accord about a week after deleting all the photos from it. Problem solved.
