Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

I agree with this, and appreciate your lack of a nasty tone.  I've always said that for me, the headaches (and this is one of them) of sharing an apple id are worth it.

That's because, at least right now, sharing and working on photos with my fiancé is very important to me.  The family sharing and various other methods Apple wants us to use just don't work very well.  Family sharing and shared albums don't support photo keywords or folders very well at all.  Those things are important to me. For that reason we choose to use the same Apple ID.  I know that's not what Apple would prefer, but I'd prefer it if they supported a true family photo sharing plan.

Anyway, I know the upside and downside and prefer to do it my way.  Now if some of the experts on this forum would mellow out a bit, that would be nice.

CSound1, do you even know what this thread is about? It is about recent calls list being shared amongst devices using the same AppleID. The calls list are shared at random, with no pattern at all, between some, or all of the devices (once again with no rule at all just complete chaos). And you say this is OK and that everyone who experiences this problem is dumb. I think you should look at yourself. I personally have 4 iPhones each of them with SIM cards from different countries. They are each used for completely different purposes and in no way should be shared. People writing about handoff and all this other stuff are talking about a DIFFERENT issue. They're mistakenly talking about calls appearing at the same time on different phones or devices. That is NOT the issue of this thread, this is about recent call lists being mixed at random between devices. It is not fixed. It is clearly a bug. So wake up or get out of this forum please.

    You people are simply amazing.

Go ahead. Do what you want. I don't care. You can whine and moan all you like, it's not going to alter reality one little bit.

I am NOT sharing my ID!   Stop saying or suggesting that.  I am sharing it WITH MYSELF.  There is no reason to and no way I would ever have TWO apple IDs for two devices I use.

This issue is entirely about two devices getting recent calls mixed for no explicable reason which started in May.  This is a BUG.  There is no reason for it and you high level trolls need to get out of this thread immediately or be helpful.

I am NOT sharing my ID.  I am using it properly across multiple devices I OWN.

KIlted Tim what is your problem? Being aggressive and arrogant about something you obviously no nothing about. You are saying that shared calls lists, occurring at random between devices using the same AppleID is not a bug? The pure randomness and chaos about it screams "bug!"

Yes, it's a bug, in the user.

Perhaps you should look up banned, you'll be surprised, and better informed.

Your reputation level shows that you have provided no help to anyone on this thread or even on this site. Guess who I think knows nothing (hint: no kilt)

I Know how to spell, iPhone auto correct however doesn't so I don't usually go back and try to correct apples mistakes as its hard enough trying to get them to fix this problem.

so did your reply help in this thread or did it make you put a silly grin on your face?

Not a "tech" support forum as no "apple" rep has ever replied. Only abusive high level wanna be's with absolutely no help. Keep on deleting and I will keep on posting.
