Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

Go into your FaceTime settings and uncheck the numbers your don't want to be reached at. If you have two phones using the same apple ID then each phone will check the number corresponding to the device the number is assigned to.

Thank you!  This just started happening to me (much later than everyone else it seems) and your solution seems to have solved it!

How do you suppose iCloud Drive decided which phone was the "master" phone for syncing call history?  Mine was always one way, not two way. Was yours two way?

JUst want to clarify, your call log is slowing up on multiple devices, and the devices involved are your personal ones. Did you uncheck your email address and only have your number checked in the section of the FaceTime settings --> "can be reached by FaceTime at"?

Guys , i am following this post since the day one and i am getting crazy of the high levels people who keeps mentioning that according to Apple policy users should not share their Apple ID .... PLEASE STOP HERE AND LISTEN: FOR GOD SAKE understand that me and i am sure that thousands like me are using their own 2 or 3 iPhone devices BY THEM ONLY AND NOT SHARED WITH ANY Human-been So please please don't you ever use the word ( SHARE Apple ID again ) Please and 1000 times Please understand this simple sentence.

I am using my own THREE ( 3 )  devices and they are ( iPhone 6 ) and really my recent calls issue is completely making my daily life very difficult and this has to be solved immediately by Apple in the next update .... since the iPhone 4s i am using 3 devices for my own personal and business use with same apple id and never had such problem in my recent calls duplication between the 3 phones .... MY Message to the high level guys to report this serious problem to Apple ios teams instead of fighting us because they have no answer or solution.

I will keep following this post till this issue solved forever ..... otherwise Apple may decided to make each person can use only one device with his own apple id which i don't think so ..... it's just a crazy complex angry bug and i am sure that it will be solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Instead of ranting, why not tell us exactly what devices you have and exactly what is taking place that you don't believe should be taking place.

Yes, if you use the same Apple ID on both phones, your recent calls will be synced across devices. This is expected behavior. You are just as capable of reporting your displeasure with this as anyone else. So, do it yourself:

Dear Meg St Clair, your comment is typical of someone who hasn't experienced the problem. In effect complete rubbish feedback. The actual problem is that recent calls lists are duplicated for SOME calls , at random , with no pattern , on some devices, not others , again with no pattern. What I personally experience is that every couple of days some calls made on one phone appear on another, but not on the third device. The next day the reverse happens , maybe, maybe not. So to blindly say this is expected behaviour is firstly wrong. Because in fact the calls lists are NOT duplicated. They're mixed, withough any pattern.

This is a bug. Plain and simple . And needs to be fixed.

    Then complain to Apple.

By the way, your issue has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the original topic of this thread.

So, use the feedback link I provided, that Amish Cake provided (and probably had a dozen others as well) and tell Apple. No one here can change it.

I had a similar problem with my wife phone calls showing up on my work phone, but not vice versa.  I made sure her phone was up to date on the latest iOS release and it fixed the problem.
