Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

New users of this thread should be aware that unpredictable results in software is another term for a software bug.  They should also be aware that none of the official Apple documentation states that call histories are shared across devices on an iCloud account.  There is a lot of myth lore on this topic absent documented facts from the vendor.

    I have also this "issue"

It was in 8.0 and fixed in 8.1.

Since 9.0 it is again that the Call-Log is identical if you use same account.

    I (HOPE) I FXIED IT WITH: General/Mobile Data/Phone -> DISABLE

Very Interesting is that i have this option only at my wifes phone and not on mine?!?

A software bug is an unexpected result, this is by design. The phone/account combination are operating correctly. The 'problem' is per user.

Do you think, it is possible, that you stop involving here? You write oinly your opinion, I think so, without having a source for this.

    > A software bug is an unexpected result, this is by design. The phone/account combination are operating correctly. The 'problem' is per user.

Then, it should not only sync in one direction and not only sometimes and not only by chance and not only start by chance with x.0 or x.y update, ...

Otherwise, please link to the description, from wich version x.y this is designed in which way and via which technic. And why for some users this stops in disabling facetime and for some not. Or for other it stops when changing the contact-name and for some useres not. Or for some users, if they disable cell calls on other devices and for some not.

If this this a wanted/designed behavior, all this should work or should not work for all users. And then, all the time, in all directions.

But of course, we are going in circles.

Do you think, it is possible that the phones will function properly when the user follows the criteria set by Apple?

I think that I shall post where, when and what I choose, I shall do this regardless of what you want. This is an open forum, it is not just for you.

I've followed everything from Apple and it does not perform according to published specification (not your speculation).

I posted in this thread two links from Apple enumerating what is shared with an iCloud account - did you not read it?

New readers of this thread should note that an iCloud account is designed as a single user account, using an iCloud account as a multi user account is unsupported and will result in unpredictable and often undesirable results.
