Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

Instead of writing this over and over again, which does not mach for the single users with two devices (as you write, single user, not single device), could you please answer or link to this:

Please link to the description, from wich version x.y this is designed in which way and via which technic. And why for some users this stops in disabling facetime and for some not. Or for other it stops when changing the contact-name and for some useres not. Or for some users, if they disable cell calls on other devices and for some not.

If this this a wanted/designed behavior, all this should work or should not work for all users. And then, all the time, in all directions.

Forgive me but I can make no sense out of that sentence.

1 account = 1 user, the number of devices is not relevant. I have 9 devices on my account, but I am the sole user.

For other users who might not want to wade through the forum entries, I'm reposting the two links:

"For those who are interested, take a look at Apple's documentation on iCloud and what it provides at the following links:

    http://help.apple.com/icloud/?lang=en#/mmfc0efea4

    http://help.apple.com/icloud/?lang=en#/mm2038548b

Nowhere does Apple mention in its documentation that the call history across devices is shared. "

Neither of those links mention that you can make phone calls at all. Another 'bug'?

The number of devices is relevant if call history is shared across devices by design as you claim.  Indeed, it is the number of users that is irrelevant since from the iCloud's perspective, it's the same account.  Now if it could be shown that sharing call history lists between devices on one iCloud account is the intended design, then I would agree with you.  But from everything I've read, it is not.  Indeed, no documentation has been posted here that supports the contrary.

I disagree with your opinion, and the experiences of users on this thread seems also to be opposed to your opinion. But thanks anyway, I will file it.

No, they mention what is shared which is what we're talking about.  Call history is not listed.  If you claim they are, please provide documentation that shows this.  In the absence of documentation, the reasonable conclusion is that it isn't - hence a bug.

Ask Apple, as I have already said, I disagree with your opinion.

Apple published their documentation - should I tell them that someone on the boards thinks their documentation is incomplete or incorrect so I am asking for them?  And why is that my task rather than the one who thinks it's wrong?

You are free to tell Apple anything you choose to.

    You asked:

should I tell them that someone on the boards thinks their documentation is incomplete or incorrect so I am asking for them?

    I answered:

You are free to tell Apple anything you choose to.

Which seems to address the point of your question rather well, in my opinion.

Actually, it was a rhetorical question... that's why you missed the point.

At this point I have no further interest in your posts.

    Have a nice day.
