Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

Yet according to Apples published documentation.

You shouldn't share your Apple ID with anyone else

Between believing your opinion and Apples documentation I believe Apple.

I made nothing up but posted what iCloud accounts share as documented by Apple.  Call history lists are not mentioned in the documentation that you posted and the documentation I posted suggests that they are not shared.  Why are you making things up?

You never spoke with an Apple Technician did you, yet you report it as fact.

Where is the term unpredictable and unsupported come from?  Sounds like you're extrapolating a simple Apple recommendation to something it is not.

Nonsense, I reported that other users had spoken with an Apple Technician which they had.  Please read my posts before characterizing them falsely.

Top of the page, on the right. Uncheck the box marked 'Following'

You do not speak on behalf of others, try speaking from your own experience.

Apple on the other hand are unequivocal on the subject, and they are the only actual authority on the matter.

You shouldn't share your Apple ID with anyone else

We share an Apple ID specifically for this reason, as it was designed.

    Then why do Apple say

You shouldn't share your Apple ID with anyone else

Which is entirely contrary to your claim that it is 'as designed'

When users recount an experience, there is nothing wrong with referencing it.  What is wrong is mischaracterizing postings as you've done with mine twice now.

They gave a recommendation, not whether or not call history lists are shared.

I'll take Apples recommendation on how to use an Apple ID over your opinion, but thanks for your opinion.

Decided to check in and see if you had any luck. That's a bummer turning off FaceTime icloud on the other devices didn't work for you. I'm still good so far.

Maybe try rebooting all your devices after you've changed the FaceTime iCloud settings? Did you try that?

Try whatever you wish but, if you want to be sure, try not sharing an Apple ID.

    ******************

And the sharing with other persons does not have anything to to do with the reported Problems, because, if you have two devices by your own, you still have the same Problems with this bug. Currently, no one in this thread has the final solution (without disabling iCloud documents/drive), which works for all to disable the unwanted sync. I opened a ticket at Apple and hope many of you will do the same
