Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

You can rectify it by using different AppleID's for each person, the way Apple intended AppleID's to be used.

Then you must've implemented something incorrectly, since there's no way with separate iCloud accounts would allow this to continue.  Otherwise I'd have access to others' accounts and vice-versa.

Sign out of iCloud completely on each device, then sign in to unique IDs for each person's devices.  Shared information from the past won't clear out, so don't be confused by that -- only going forward with separate IDs will stop the co-mingling of information.

Go to Settings > Phone > turn off "Calls on other devices"

Yes, we tried that as well (with the apple care tech on the land line), to no avail. Believe me, we tried every step recommended, that is why we are stumped. thanks Rock.

On a side note, and I thought this may have been the reason, is that my wife's phone is my old Iphone5. I recently purchased the iphone6. The Verizon store transferred her number to my old 5, and my number to my 6. With the Apple care tech, we made sure everything on mine was completed deleted (restored) on my old 5 as well.

There was no issue until after we did the updates to software on each phone.

You mean you tried every step recommended except for not sharing an ID for iCloud.

I Spoke with apple support for over an hour.   they said this should not be happening.  Why do all you people keep repeating not to share an ID?

i Have two iPhones. I want my calls separate!    stop defending apple!  This is a glitch that started with an update.

as an update,  mine seems to only s call logs when my iPhone 6 is plugged in to charge overnight and a backup occurs.

its no longer showing up during the day as missed calls on my lock screen from the other line.

My 5s is my work line and is off iCloud altogether now.  No backup even being done.   I think the latest update helped as the last two

ddays it hasn't mingled my call logs.

a Person who has two phones for themselves! Should not have to have two separate ids. And pay twice for iCloud storage!

Please look for my previous posts.  The problem is from iCloud DRIVE - not iCloud.  Just turn off the drive and you can share Apple ID's or iCloud accounts if you wish.   Yes, it is a glitch that Apple ought to fix.  Yes, having separate Apple ID's would also eliminate the problem.  However, if you choose to have the same Apple ID you can turn off iCloud DRIVE and stop the call logs from appearing on each device.

Kelto1, then what do your iPhones have in common, if not for the AppleID/iCloud account? There's gotta be something to explain why you're seeing each other's recent call list.  Otherwise lots of people in the world would be seeing lots of other people's recent call list, too.   And it would be a huge privacy issue.

I Don't have iCloud Drive turned on either of my phones Ive never even set it up.  If it doesn't sync today then it may be fixed with the update that I did this week.

Ive had two phones for years. Same Apple ID whole time.   I'm so tired of hearing it's an ID problem.

Then you didn't do it right. It is impossible for that information to be duplicated if the devices are not logged into iCloud with the same account. Note that changing the iCloud account on one of the devices without completely wiping it will not magically erase the call log info that's already been synced.

Iam really Wondering why some People Declare a Glitch/Bug as an Feature ?

I had several Calls with Apple and some Days at The Genius Bar. No One was Able to Solve my Problem.

I Have 3 Phones on the Same ID and bevor IOS 8.2 this was no Problem. So if Apple call this a Feature Fine ,but then give me a Switch to Turn of this ...........

But when it is a Feature WHY APPLE GENIUS wasnt able to remove it ?

We Tryed also Differnt IDs ,for thos wo still belive this will be Helpfull. Yes it Worked for 1or 2 Days and then Suddenly it Came Bac. And we dindt find a Reason.

Want to hear some Scary on ?

I Sold one of my Phones to an Friend (Thanks lord it was him) He was Using it whit HIS ID and after one Week he gave my a Call asking me What this Phone is Doing . He could see all my Calls on HIS Phone.

The Phone was set back to Factory Defaults by me.

After he Reseted it and Usesd it as an New Phone it will work. Ill Hope it

So dont Tell me any **** about ITS A FEATURE.

No. It wasn't. You did it wrong. If you would have followed the instructions here, it would have been fine.
