Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

The previous poster did not agree with anyone that the problems we are experiencing are as designed.

I'll quote (again), the previous poster:

First of all its not a bug, its the way iCloud has been designed.

Seems like they're agreeing to me.

Yes you do. Otherwise it wouldn't be happening.

Anyone still having problems with merged call lists after installing iOS 9.2.1 on all of their devices (iPhones and iPads)?  Folks that I know who were experiencing this problem tell me that it went away after the upgrade...

Yes, 9.2.1 fixed this bug and our family is happily sharing our appleid again as we have for years despite 53   pages of useless harangues in this thread to do otherwise.

No, Apple didn't "fix" anything ... it is still working as it should, as it has been for the last 53 pages.  I have 9.2.1 on my iPhone and iPad, and since both use my iCloud account, along with my Mac, my call history shows up on all three devices -- as it should since I'm using one iCloud account.

If suddenly you think 9.2.1 stopped this behavior, then you are mistaken or changed some setting or don't understand how this is supposed to work.  This is not a bug, it is a feature (no pun intended).

Thanks Limanzana for the confirmation.  As you say, the last 53 pages have been full of people saying that there is no way that two iOS devices sharing an icloud account could avoid sharing the call list.  As one can see, this is now possible.  Since 9.2.1 was a bug fix release, I think most folks can draw their own conclusions.

Can you also confirm with Limanzana that she/he can see angels, I would like to confirm at least one real sighting if possible?

I hope that high levels users can ask Apple to know that it's really normal for same person to own 3 or 4 iPhone devices with different country sim cards and while connecting over same WiFi all devices will receive the incoming call and all will ring at the same moment ... i switched hands off and face time and any sharing feature on all devices ... but still the same problem

Dears Apple Team, please give the right for your users with multi devices not to have any sharing point over same WiFi ... i am very sure that if Apple Team knows about this problem they will make immediate solution.

For who says it's a feature .. Ok ... i respect your answer and my reply to you that i must have the right not to have this great feature on my own multi devices which i will use only my apply id on all of them and i will connect them all to same WiFi of course. Peace!!

Osama, can you confirm whether or not all of your devices are running on iOS 9.2.1?

    Thanks

    >> Can you also confirm with Limanzana that she/he can see angels, I would like to confirm at least one real sighting if possible?

Apparently, there is some confusion on whether or not a particular computer feature works for some people vs the existence of supernatural creatures.  I asked whether or not folks were having this problem in 9.2.1 and so far, I have one yes and one no.  But the yes was with a MAC in the mix which obviously was not updated with iOS 9.2.1) - I'm interested in iOS devices only.  Taking that together with my experience on 9.2.1, it seems that there is at least limited success in the new release.   So the folks who are claiming this is a feature apparently do not have the entire story - their denial not withstanding.  And those claiming that iOS 9.2.1 could not change the behavior of anyone's device clearly are wrong.
