Q: My recent calls appearing on another iPhone!?

Hi,

Hopefully you can help.

I use my phone for business and we have noticed in the last few days that all of the calls I make and receive are appearing in my wife's iPhone recent call history?

I have hunted high and low in settings on both phones but with no joy.

It is only affecting calls i make, not the other way round? so i am not seeing calls my wife makes on her phone in my recent call history?

It is also not affecting text messages...

We are both using the same iCloud account but the inconsistencies above suggest its something more involved (or very simple!)

The slightly odd thing is that it only seems to do it when my phone is at home, i went out this afternoon and the calls made/received have not appeared on her history. so maybe its a wifi thing?...but...

I also phoned vodafone when i got home to see if they could help (they couldn't!) and that short dial number is also not appearing on her history?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

Ahh yes, you know through the electrons on your screen that the poster never called Apple.  Talk about delusional!

No.  I know because of the untrue allegation made by the poster.

Is it really necessary for you to constantly throw out insults?

What "untrue allegation" was made by the poster?  That he called Apple UK and was given certain information that you didn't like?

You and others basically call him a liar and defame him, now you think I'm insulting you by pointing this out.  Really!

No, I am not accusing the poster of lying. There is simply no evidence that Apple have (sic) 100% confirmed it is a bug.... Provide the support article, or other written evidence that they have confirmed this, and this thread can come to an end.  Otherwise, it is just more prattle....

When did I or anyone else call him a liar?  You/re the only one that used that term.

Excuse me, when someone calls the vendor (Apple), and they confirm something is a bug, you bet it takes precedence over any speculation you might have to the contrary who have never bothered to call Apple or talk to the developers.  So let's be honest, you are calling him a liar - your protests not withstanding.

    >> Provide the support article, or other written evidence that they have confirmed this, and this thread can come to an end.

Well, you see that's the rub.  With Apple, internal bugs are proprietary information and aren't published in articles.  The best you can get is to call Apple and get a verbal acknowledgement of a problem.  And the irony is that you just had a posting where you encouraged people to contact Apple but when they do, you don't believe them.

No one called anyone a liar. The only time that particular word has been used here is by you. Which, of course, supports the fact that what is actually fact (and by fact, I mean something that is in writing) and what is interpretation are oftentimes two different things. Also, what one Apple representative may or may not have said, does not make it fact either. When Apple makes an official statement confirming that it is 100% a bug, then that will be fact.

As I stated in my earlier post. Everyone has an opinion on this. Personally, I don't have any investment either way - it may be a bug, it may be by design. But since the TOU specifically states that we cannot speculate what Apple's intentions may or may not be, and since there is no official statement by Apple concerning this particular issue, then the argument regarding whether it is a bug or whether it is a design that many users are unhappy with is just that - an opinion.

And again, I can certainly see why many people do not like how this is currently functioning. But, I cannot see what purpose it serves for the same two opinions to be bantered about, oftentimes with insults and unpleasantness, when no one on this forum can do anything about it. Personally, I am done here. Trying to provide a rational approach does not seem to be working (i.e., providing feedback to Apple), and there seems to be a determination on the part of many of the posters here to just continue to reiterate the same things over and over in an increasingly uncivil and argumentative manner.

Only time will tell what Apple will or will not do.

    Best of luck,

You don't have to use the term to call someone effectively a liar.  Really!  Do you think folks can't read what you're saying?  He called Apple and was told it was definitely a bug.  He was immediately called delusional, a troll and you supported the delusional claim with a "statement of fact".. links are provided below.

You remain the only individual to use the term "liar."

Well, if you're taking that approach, even Tim Cook saying it wouldn't make it fact - I mean he could be misinformed.  It would be one thing if you had bothered to call Apple and was told something different.  But you didn't - you just chose not only to disbelieve but to vilify the person (your term was delusional which is pejorative as you well know). As I said before, he isn't the first that has contacted Apple and was told it was a bug with similar follow-ons.

I know nothing about internal bugs.  I asked you to provide evidence about that which you emphatically stated.  I'm still waiting.
