Is it possible to connect my macbook pro to use as dual monitor for mac pro?

I have a Mac Pro (Late 2013) connected to a 24" Apple LED Cinema Display (older version - circa 2010, only has 3 usb ports on back). I also have a MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2014. Both running Yosemite 10.10.3.

I would like to connect the two computers so that I can use the MacBook Pro as an additional monitor. Is this possible. Right now I have connected a thunderbolt cable from my tower to the laptop...nothing happened. Cannot find where to detect displays. Command+F2 wasn't working either...

Super stumped. Thanks for any help/advice in advance.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Only with a product such as ScreenRecycler. All of these work over a network.
