Ibook error: suddenly none of my purchased books will open. I get a message saying "This book cannot be opened because required software cannot be downloaded." Have never had this problem before. Help!

I have this exact problem too! One night, I was reading the book - no problems at all.
Next day, that specific book won't open but all the others are fine.
Driving me insane - please help!

Try double tap Home button and swipe up to delete iBooks from multitask-list.
Reopen iBooks.
No go unfortunately, tried that a few times and still get the same error response.

Do the same again and follow up with Force restart:
I was hopeful...but nope. That didn't work either.
