Is there any way to sort a table that contains vertically merged cells?

Hi Everyone,

I have a pretty large & complex spreadsheet that I need to be able to sort it but it seems like the 'sort now' button is greyed out. A quick google search tells me it's because of the vertically merged cells in the table. Does anybody know if there's a way to sort the table without having to unmerge the cells?

Thanks!

Short answer: "NO"

Numbers treats rows like entries in a database.... like records. sorting records (rows) that are joined is not possible at this time
