iPhone charger won't fit in slot anymore

My iPhone charger won't fit in my iPhone 6. It's like there are two little pieces of plastic on either side of the slot that are preventing the charger from fitting in the slot. I've tried using a toothpick to dig and see if there was anything in there keeping it from going in, but couldn't find anything. It fits halfway in but won't go all the way in.
