Songs deleted from iphone still appear

This is a bit weird. I just deleted most songs from my iphone to clear space. But first of all, according to itunes, my iphone is still "full of songs" (that dont appear on the iphone in itunes) and when I look at my actual phone, the songs I deleted are still there...
What can I do?
