Opting out of discussion

Can you define "flow of stuff"? Do you mean emails regarding discussions here? Something else?

Go to each of the areas you don't want to receive email from and click the Following button at the top right corner; if you're running ad-blocking software, you may need to temporarily disable it.

If desired, you can instead click here and turn off the email notifications completely.

Look at the top of the screen when you have the Apple TV community open. You'll see one of these:

The upper image shows that the community is being followed. The lower shows the community is not being followed.

Assuming you see the upper image when you look at the screen click the Following check mark to turn it into Follow.
