SOLVED: home sharing tv shows with itunes 12.1.2.27
Problem
home sharing to iPad or iPhone from computer not sorting properly with default tags - seems to effect all models of iPhone and iPad currently
everything looks great in itunes, perfectly sorted. however when shared on the ipad it lumps every show into 1 directory for each season. episodes sorted based on shows episode number and sort tags.
Solved
itunes is sorting by track number and track number isn't shown when editing tv shows.
do not hit ok until complete
- Select episode
- change media type from tv show to music video
- under details set the track number to the episode number ie 1 of 24
- set disc number to the season number
- alblum to the show name
- change media type from music video back to tv shows. and hit ok
itunes will sort tv shows based on tags even though they are not shown under the tv shows tag setup.
this is clearly a flaw seeing as the season/episode number should suffice for sorting but this is a quick fix until they update
