I have a macbook pro using windows and it is not reconinzing my backup slim hard drive

i have a macbook pro running windows 8.1 and when i bought my hard drive I can connect it but one day it can't connect to it. It shows up in device manger, not in disk manger, and it won't show up on my macbook air or smart tv
