my ipod touch 4th generation wont stay charged for more than 10 mins.without needing to be plugged in.

my iPod won't stay charged for more than 10 mins without needing to be plugged in. After it is plugged in it immediately shows that it has full battery. which is incredibly confusing and frustrating. It also decided that it needed to reset it self, which did not fix the charging issue. if there was any solution to this I would be very appreciative!

First, how long does a charge last if you charge for at least 8 hours?

Not know what "reset" was done:

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Try another cable.

- Try another charging source

- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
