PowerBook G4 running on OS Tiger stopped working ... (:

My old PowerBook G4 running on OS Tiger stopped working ... it doesn't react to clicks from Trackpad and/or mouse ... can't get to any file, applications, any informed suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Does it boot in Safe Mode, SHIFT key at bootup?

How about from the Install Disc hold c key or alt key?

Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...

/sbin/fsck -fy

Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.

(Space between fsck AND -fy important).

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.

Hi BDAqua, thank you for your response and suggestions.

I never received an Install Disk when bought the laptop.

Tried the Safe Mode before, but nothing changed. Still the arrow moves around with the Trackpad and/or mouse, but still nothing reacts to the clicks ...

Tried the Single User Mode as you suggested, it came out: the HD Volume seems to be working properly.

Couldn't try his one as the link doesn't work ...
