How do I keep EXIF data in my uploads

Whenever I upload an image from my iPad, the EXIF data gets stripped. Some sites require the basic info for posting.

Is there a way to fix this? The data is still in the image on my iPad, but is gone when it gets to the other end. It is not the web site, as I can upload from my desktop without issue.
