2.0 and 3.0 USB flash drives
What is the difference between a 2.0 or 3.0 flash drive, and when can I use either one or both?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

The 3.0 drive will be faster if it's plugged into an USB 3.0 port. You can use either in both types of ports.

Thanks Rudegar! I have an older iMac. lt's 2008. Does it have USB 3 ports and can it accommodate USB 3 Flash Drives? Just want to be absolutely sure it does not.
It doesn't have USB 3.0 ports(it has 2.0 ones), but can accomodate USB 3.0 drives. No special OS or hardware is needed.
