Q: iPhone is giving an invalid response when connected to the laptop. Syncing does not occur.

recently I install anti-virus software onto my laptop. Since then, every time I plug in my iPhone to the laptop for syncing, iTunes opens up and gives the message stating that "iPhone sync was not possible because of an I valid response from the device". Can someone help me out with this?
