On in iphone 6, IOS 8.3, I am trying to set up a messaging group, but do not have the prompts to name the group or to add/delete members, could I be going into the list from the wrong area?

The iPhone User guide details how to go about naming a group for a group message.
Give a group a name. While viewing the conversation, tap Details, drag down, then enter the name in the Subject line.
