ibooks wont respond

I downloaded a book earlier today. Read for a while then took a break. Came back clicked on ibooks and all i get is a blank screen for a few seconds then it kicks me back to home page. Tried resetting, turning of and on again and resyncing. Nothing has worked all other apps working perfectly fine. Please help.
