How to Connect ATV to my HD TV

Hi ,

Just bought ATV 2 days ago. I have problems even to get a display on my TV. I have connected ATV via HDMI but I only see a blue screen.

Currently using a Toshiba HD Ready TV (about 6 years old now)

I have 3 HDMI ports and tried them all but cant get any video or sound. I tried using the same HDMI port that works well with my other SAT box but that didn't work too.

Tried the Holding on to menu button for 6 secs thingy but still no image

Restarted the my Toshiba TV and AppleTV too. Do I have to get a Newer TV or something?

Do you see a light on the Apple TV.

Where did you buy this from the Apple TV 2 was discontinued a long time back, could you have bought a lemon.

you could also try going to some friends and or family and connect the appletv and lower the resolution while being connected to their tv

and bring it back and connect it to your tv

There is the normal flashing light for 20 times then to a stable constant light. I probably got the model wrong. I can see its showing A1469 at the back of the device. I think the device is working fine.

I will try to bring it to a friends house to do up the resolution
