Is there any problem associated in connecting the apple i pods with other brand laptops or desktops?
No, however if you want to be able to add media to the device from more than one library you should switch to manually managed mode on the computer that you currently manage the device with. See Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod - Apple Support
