iBooks will not open on iPhone 5s after latest update?
is anyone else with a iPhone 5s having the issue since update to latest iOS that ibooks just crashes and no longer opens?

Hey there FlyDi1992,
As I understand it you are opening the iBooks app and it just closes on its own with no error message. There could be a few things going on here, but I would start with closing the iBooks app first:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
