Music and playlists disappeared off iPhone 5s iOS 8.3 with no sync

I realized last night that all of my 40GB of music had disappeared off of my iPhone 5S 64GB leaving me with about 105 songs. I am running iOS 8.3 and I know I am not alone in having this problem. I also know it is not a syncing issue because I have not synced it to my computer since February 17th 2015.

Also complicating my issue is the fact that the laptop I use to sync has died on me and I have all the music backed up on an external hard drive with the library and playlists. Is there any fix that isn't gonn require me to get a new laptop setup with iTunes again?

This is ridiculously absurd Apple, and even tho I've never had a problem before, this is the type of issue that will make me leave the iPhone and apple products and never come back.
