iPhone 5 64GB IOS 8.3 (12F70) firmware 8.02.00. Spam from 'Perfect Dog' app appears daily on my home screen. If I ignore it then it disappears upon unlocking. Since it is not a regular e-mail I don't know how to prevent it continuing.

Have you tried removing the Perfect Dog app from your phone?
That's not Spam, they're likely notifications you agreed to receive when you installed the App. If you no longer want them: go into Settings->Notifications->Perfect Dog App, and turn off Allow Notifications.
Not yet since it is a nice app. I have been advised to cancel permission for notifications from this app and have now done this - we'll see if this works. As far as I know I didn't give permission recently, so I wonder why the messages only started a few weeks ago. If they continue I'll remove the app.
