I have a blank hd (no data on it) and wants to install Snow Leopard on that drive. (I have a dvd with Snow Leopard btw.)
Will it be ok to install a system on the empty drive (straight from the factory)??? that is from the dvd after the hd is installed on the mac?

Yes. You may need to use the Disk Utility to format the drive as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) before installing the OS.

So Niel, I just boot from the DVD and start Disk Utility from the DVD and install everything from the DVD onto the factory fresh empty drive installed in the Mac (not yet installed)?
