I am trying to find out whether or not I should install the app update for desktop remote. I don't understand what it's purpose is and I didn't install it my self so if I already have it then it came on the computer itself. Any suggestions would be most helpful and appreciated. Thanks.

It's the client portion of Apple Remote Desktop; this application is intended for educational or corporate networks. Unless you're on one of them, you don't need it.

What's the usefulness of remote desktop. I receive notification of app update and never even installed it on my MAC. Do I need it and why?
