Purple running lines?

I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13". Whenever I use it, it runs smoothly then randomly locks up and horizontal lines appear on the screen. The lines run back and fourth and the screen shakes. It is no longer under warranty. Has anyone ever experienced this issue? I took it to the Apple Store a few weeks ago and they did not find anything wrong. What should I do?User uploaded file

You may have to take the computer to the Apple store again.
