Itunes store won't let me connect

For several months, I haven't been able to log into Itunes on my Windows 7 Laptop. It keeps coming up with the error message 'an unexpected error occured (310)". I have read several forums about this issue and I have done what people have suggested e.g. change firewall settings, or the proxy settings, still no luck. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes, but still no luck. HELP!
