can the AirPort connect my macbook with my TV samsung?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

The airport can help the samsung connect to the internet.. as any wireless router would.


It can allow the samsung TV to share I guess with the MBP.. however if you are trying to avoid an Apple TV, the answer is no.. or at least not unless you use DLNA media server on your Mac.. and that means movies extracted from iTunes so the Samsung can see them.. for most people it is easier to use appleTV in the mix if you have apple network.. otherwise a cheap PC will work fine. PC does have DLNA in the standard windows media software. Apple of course keep well away.. to ensure you must buy yet another apple gadget.
