Why did notifications for old missed calls appear on my phone?

Ditto today for both my iPhone 5 and iPhone 6+. I have a contract and a GoPhone with AT@T. This just happened today for the first time ever. Some of these messages are from 100 -235 days ago. What gives?

Same issue here, but this is my second time- First time they were only about 50 days old. Today, I have those and in addition a bunch of other even older messages (150+ days old).

I am using Iphone 6 with updated software. PLEASE FIX? I also notice that when I get these notifications, if I am on my headphones, the sound gets really loud after it notifies me of the old messages. Not sure if this is related or not!

I deleted the old emails and the problem has not reoccurred. Still weird.

Did this problem ever get fixed for you? I have just started having the same issue with my iphone 6 plus.

Yes. My iPhone 6 is still under warranty and I called Apple. It took three phone calls but they fixed the problem on both my iPhone 6 and iPhone 5. They deleted and then put back in my gmail and msn mail accounts. They indicated the problem was my gmail account. Sorry, but that is all I know.
