Hard Drive Partition difficulties

I recently tried to install Windows 8.1 on my Mac Mini using Boot Camp but it failed. I tried to use Boot Camp Version 5.1.4 (500) to return my Mac Mini back to it's original state but received the following error...

Using Disk Utility I managed to remove a small partition created by Windows but was left with 1 partition...

My Mac Mini has a 1 TB hard drive but now it's 498 GB. I tried dragging the corner of the Macintosh HD in the Partition Layout ...

But when I click Apply I got this response...

Anyone know how I might get my 1 TB HD back?

Do not use a third-party tool for disk partitioning.


Can you post the output of the following Terminal commands?


diskutil list

diskutil cs list

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0


The "sudo" commands will prompt for your password, and it will not be echoed back. You may also see a warning about improper use of "sudo" and potential data loss due to "abuse" of the command.
