Q: Photo library not displaying in Media

The Photo library does not seem to connect/display in the media browser. Music does, just not photos. I note that it thinks iPhoto but I have the updated Photo installed. Is there a way to link/relink?

    Howdy BHWelliver,

If your pictures do not show up in the Media Browser, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

If Media Browser doesn't show your entire Photos library - Apple Support

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Best,

    Sorry, but this didn't help.

My issue is with the Photos application and its Media Browser not displaying ANY photos. There doesn't seem to be a way to tie into my photos library.

Same problem here.  iBooks Author Media does not recognise my Photos library at all.  Apple say it's an iBooks Author issue and they can't help.  Any suggestions other than setting up a separate Album?

Wait...isn't iBooks Author an Apple product?

Anyway, just send some feedback via the iBooks Author app. I'll see what happens.

I have this problem too and tried to get help from Apple support in April.  They eventually said that they could also reproduce the problem and referred it to the software engineers in the USA. I heard back that this failure is "reproducible worldwide".  So they knew back in April it was a bug but so far no fix has been forthcoming.  It's disappointing that they had not apparently tested that their own iBooks Author program (yes, it is theirs!) would work with the new Photos for Mac but all we can do is wait for a fix.  I have found that if you open up iPhoto (which should still be in your Applocations folder) then iBooks Author will revert to showing photos from the old (and better) iPhoto.   Not ideal and one of many disappointments about Photos for Mac.

Thank you for the confirmation.  I went into our local Apple Store yesterday and logged onto their demo Mac to find that it could not access Photos from iBooks Author.  So I figured it was a known problem.  I agree that Photos is a step backwards from iPhoto.  Not happy.
