I recently Updated to FCP 10.2.1 the playback on the timeline is poor and FCP keeps on hanging I have to forcequit it. It also doesn't render or export. I installed a fresh copy of FCP but the problem is persistent, OS X 10.10.3, Ram 8gb

Start by deleting preferences. Hold down command and option keys while starting and confirm.
I did that twice and now I can launch FCP however when I hover the mouse on the timeline, it hangs again. I have restarted the machine numerous times the same with the app, it works for a few minutes then hangs. This problem started with FCP 10.2.1, could it be a bug problem?
Also, if deleting preferences doesn't improve responsiveness, take a look atthis list of potential fixes. One of the thing on the list that I often recommend to people is to start up in Safe Mode.
