SSD on iMac 24'' 2009 (iMac 9.1)

I got the idea of setting up an SSD in my iMac and I doubt whether to replace the existing HDD by SSD or replace the SuperDrive by SSD with its own adapter.

My question is whether the port HD and SuperDrive are the same speed and the same yield SSD in a port other.

The iMac to whom I want to do this update is an iMac 24 ' ' of 2009 ( 9.1).

Thank you very much !!

For what its worth, I have just installed an SSD (480GB) in my 27" iMac (late 2009) to replace the optical drive which no longer worked.

Installed the OS on the SSD but left all my music and photos & movies on the original HD just in case I ran out of space.

So far all works very well and I use the SSD as the start-up disk which loads much faster than the other h/d.
