Google mail shows ONLY the past 30 days of messages on Macbook. Older messages in subfolders disappeared. iPhone

Just a couple of days ago, messages older than 30 days disappeared from my Google mail folders. Messages still ok on iPad & iPhone. Hotmail & Icloud accounts not affected. Just purchased wife a macbook pro & set up her Google mail. Our settings are identical. Her Google mail shows older mails in her subfolders. Mine did also until about three days ago. Help appreciated.
