Q: I changed providers and lost my email folders. Help!

I had folders of saved email correspondence, but when I changed providers they vanished. Are they lost forever? If not, how do I retrieve the folders and emails?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Try adding back your old accounts. If the mailboxes are restored, create On My Mac mailboxes and move your e-mails to the new mailboxes. Then delete the old accounts.

Thanks for the response, Eric. Tried this, but the mailboxes did not reappear. Is there some archived location I can search?
