my iphone6's bluetooth does not pair with other phones including iphones

Hi ,

I just purchased Iphone 6, 2 months ago. Yesterday I tried using the bluetooth option to exchange few photos with my mom's samsung galaxy A5.

My phone's bluetooth couldnot detect my mom's phone. Further when we tried paring Samsung galaxy A5 with my IPhone 6. It gave the message "Not Connected".

Today I tried using the bluetooth option, with my colleagues's Iphone 6 and 5c. None of the phones detected each other.

Is this somekind of malfunction of the phone

or is there any kind of settings to be used

or the bluetooth doesnt work with phones and only work with bluetooth devises such as car's music recorder.

Please can you help?
