Phots not being saved.

Hi,

I have discovered pictures I have saved to Photos are, in fact, not being saved. Example, a photo attached to a Message that I selected to be Saved to Photos, is no where to be found on the hard drive, except in the original Message.

Is there a way to repair Photos, if that is indeed what needs to be done?
